Lee Hirsche, 1982; Wood, plastic, chicken egg, string; Artist's Description: "This work is concerned with the process of architectural construction. First you build a ladder with each rung a different distance apart for variation of scale then a counterweighted derrick is constructed to bring up the necessary building supplies. The structure begins to be built, but becomes sloppy, confused and disorganized so they give up and build a nest in stead, the basic architectural structure. After a while a bird lays an egg in the nest and when it hatches, out come some very small people to continue the building process in their own fashion."
